Family members pay their final respects in front of the battle crosses of the fallen Marines of 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment.

The Marine Corps hosted a ceremony in North Carolina on Tuesday to honor Lance Cpl. William Taylor Wild IV and the six other Marines killed in the training accident in Nevada on March 18.

The 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment hosted the ceremony Tuesday at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. The service was attended by the members of the unit and families of the fallen Marines.

Wild and six other Marines were killed and eight others were injured after an explosion at Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada. The cause of the incident remains under investigation, according to a release.

"We send our prayers and condolences to the families of the Marines and sailors who have been killed and injured in this tragic incident," said Brig. Gen. Jim Lukeman, 2nd Marine Division Commanding General in a release. "Our first priority is to provide them with the support they need during this very difficult time, and we're doing that right now."

Wild was also honored at the Orioles game on Sunday. The team paid respects to several fallen service members before the game. Wild’s mom, Betz Wild, said the Orioles organization read a brief summary about each military member and presented the family with a jersey.
